GIS/Maps

Introduction

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) manages city-wide spatial databases (maps) for the City of Racine. A geographic information system is a system designed to create, store, analyze, manage, and present all types of geographical data.

Staff Duties

GIS staff create user-friendly applications for both internal staff, residents, and visitors. We manage various datasets within the city’s jurisdiction including tax parcels, street centerlines, imagery, utility data, planning, and zoning layers. We strive to maintain accurate data to increase efficiency, save time, and inform decisions makers.

City of Racine GIS Hub

The GIS Hub is the central location for the City of Racine’s maps and map data. Its purpose is to provide a simple and convenient way for users to access these mapping resources. Some maps are categorized (transportation, districts, parks, etc.) and we also offer other resources.

  • The GIS Viewer allows users to view City of Racine administrative, environmental, street, and planning information in one map.
  • The City of Racine Development Information Map is a map viewer intended for individuals conducting property research including zoning, floodplain, brownfield, historic, surveying, utility, and other reference information useful to landowners and property developers.
  • Tolemi is a property viewer that allows users to look up rental properties and view any outstanding or past code enforcements in the City of Racine.
