John Tate II, Executive Director

A master’s level social worker and lifelong Racine resident, John is a bridge-builder, working toward progressive solutions to make our community a safer, better place to live and raise a family. Formerly serving on Racine’s Common Council and the Wisconsin Parole Commission, John brings to the Department of Community Safety a deep understanding of human development, human behavior, and the challenges facing people today, particularly those that lead to violence. John recognizes the ties that bind each of us together and the need for collaboration to make our community better, stronger and safer.

Isaiah Lambert, Intensive Outreach Specialist

Born and raised in Racine, Isaiah “Lul Icey” Lambert is a leading advocate for ending gun violence in his hometown. In 2021, Isaiah founded the Put The Guns Down Basketball League, providing local youth with positive outlets and mentoring opportunities to combat rising gun violence in the community. As an Intensive Outreach Specialist, Isaiah works to support individuals at high risk of involvement in violence, by providing resources, intervention, and mentorship. Isaiah uses his lived experience and passion for his city to inspire change and drive progress.

Tanya Wooden, Intensive Outreach Specialist

Tanya Wooden has dedicated more than 25 years of service to Racine, serving as a pivotal force with Weed and Seed; Heaven’s Touch Christian Learning Center (HTC) and others. A beacon of resilience, Tanya has spent the last three years as the lead mom for Voice of Black Mothers United, driven by the heartbreaking loss of her son, Harry T. Canady Jr., to gun violence. Tanya has found strength and purpose, channeling her grief into impactful community work. She believes real change is possible through love and action.
