Detour routes are provided for both bridge segments during the project
Two sections of 6th Street in Racine will be closed to traffic starting Monday, July 21, as part of a bridge deck reconstruction project.
Bridge Closures
The closures will affect the following stretches of 6th Street:
Bridge 1: Between Mound Avenue and Racine Street
Bridge 2: Between Marquette Street and Stannard Street
The project is scheduled to be completed by October 10, weather permitting.
Detour Routes
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use the following detours to navigate around the closures:
For Bridge 1: Use Mound Avenue and Marquette Street as an alternate route.
For Bridge 2: Use Marquette Street, 8th Street, and Washington Avenue to bypass the construction zone.
Signage will be posted in the area to guide traffic. Drivers should follow all detour signs and use caution in construction zones.
