Lincoln King Community Center
The City of Racine, in partnership with the State of Wisconsin, is making a historic $65 million investment in the Lincoln-King neighborhood to build a new community center, a community health center, and to support housing improvements.
Racine Smart City
In 2019, Racine achieved one of five Smart City designations in the Smart Cities Readiness Challenge. The Smart Cities Council of North America awarded the city access to best practices, financing and other tools to make Racine more livable, equitable and sustainable through technology. Racine is the smallest city to win this award and was named the first "Smart City" in Wisconsin.
Sister Cities
Racine’s Sister Cities program fosters international relationships that promote cultural exchange, economic development, and global understanding. Through partnerships with cities around the world, Racine shares best practices, builds people-to-people connections, and creates opportunities for students, professionals, and residents to engage across borders. Explore how these global ties enrich our local community.
Youth Employment Program
We strive to ensure our workforce development programs are not only responsive to current needs, but actively preparing our applicants and employees for future opportunities. We truly believe in the art of impact and exposure to various career fields and workforce training opportunities to enhance their likelihood of obtaining full-time employment with the City of Racine and achieving family-sustaining wages.
Grow Racine
GROW Racine was a bold, resident-focused initiative that opened doors to education, job training, and financial stability. From scholarships for high school diplomas and trades training to one-on-one financial counseling and neighborhood mini-grants, GROW Racine helped hundreds of residents take real steps toward stronger futures.
Bloomberg Cities Initiative
How does a city become smarter, faster, and more responsive to its residents? Through the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, Mayor Mason and City of Racine staff are working with global experts to build data-driven solutions, strengthen local hiring, and improve everyday services. From executive training to on-the-ground innovation, Racine is turning insight into action.
Financial Empowerment Center
The Racine Financial Empowerment Center in Racine (FEC) offers one-on-one, confidential professional financial counseling as a free public service. Services are available to all residents regardless of income.
Racine Police Reform
Now, more than ever, the City of Racine and the Racine Police strive for strong, trusting community relations. This entails continued accountability, training, policies and practices. It also requires strong leadership and transparency – allowing and establishing a community of peace. Together, we can continue to build a unified, safe City of Racine for all.
