Lifeguards & Swim Safety in Racine

At Racine’s North Beach and Zoo Beach, our lifeguards are one of our most important amenities, keeping families safe while making sure everyone has fun in the sun.
They undergo intensive lake training to handle the unique challenges of Lake Michigan swimming

The 2025 guarded swim season runs June – August.
Lifeguards are on duty daily—10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at North Beach and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Zoo Beach.

Outside these hours, swim safely and be mindful of water conditions.
For updates, safety tips, and beach fun, visit our facebook page for North Beach Park Racine managed by Phil Kiley, our longtime and experienced Lifeguard Supervisor, who brings years of hands-on knowledge to keep our beaches safe and welcoming.
