Main Street Bridge to Close Temporarily for Structural Repairs
The City of Racine will temporarily close the Main Street Lift Bridge over the Root River to vehicle and river traffic from Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2, 2026, for structuralRelating to or forming part of the structure of a building or other item. repair work.
The closure is necessary to complete repairs to the center span locks on the bridge. During the closure, vehicle traffic will be detoured via Hamilton Street. The bridge will also be closed to vessels traveling on the Root River.
