About
Renee Kelly was elected in 2023 to represent District 13 on the Racine Common Council.
She is honored to serve her neighbors and is committed to building a safer, stronger, and more connected community.
Public safety is Alderman Renee Kelly’s top priority. She works closely with residents, city departments, and local organizations to strengthen neighborhood safety, improve community resources, and ensure that every resident feels heard and supported.
Professionally, Renee has a strong background in finance, with more than a decade of experience in accounting and financial oversight. Her work in this field has given her expertise in responsible budgeting, strategic planning, and helping her make important financial decisions. She brings this practical, solutions-oriented approach to her role on the Common Council, where fiscalRelating to government revenue, especially taxes. responsibility and accountability are key.
Renee also serves on the Racine County Board as a County Board Supervisor for District 2. As a County Supervisor she serves on the Government Services Committee and the Racine Zoo Board which helps provide additional tools while serving as a City of Racine Alderman. This background has given her a strong foundation in collaboration, problem-solving, and listening to the needs of residents.
A Racine resident for more than 33 years, Renee is proud to call District 13 home. She values transparency, accountability, and active communication between city leadership and the community. She believes that lasting change comes from neighbors working together to create solutions.
Outside of her council duties, Renee enjoys volunteering with local businesses and nonprofits, attending community events, and spending time outdoors with her family. She is raising her two children in Racine, where they are active in neighborhood programs and youth sports.
