Wastewater Utility

The Racine Wastewater Utility (RWWU) is responsible for ensuring that water discharged from homes, commercial businesses, and local area industries into our sanitary sewer system undergoes a thorough system of multiple treatment processes to remove harmful substances and materials before it is discharged back into our environment. Specifically, in the Racine area, this water is discharged back into Lake Michigan, from which our local area drinking water is sourced.
