Youth Employment Program
What is YEP?
Youth Employment Program
The City of Racine’s Youth Employment Program is an initiative from the office of Mayor Cory Mason to expose local residents to City of Racine careers.
The City of Racine’s Youth Employment Program (YEP) offers a one-of-a-kind chance to gain real-world experience while getting paid to make a difference in your community. Designed for local youth ages 16–24, YEP gives you the opportunity to work alongside City professionals in a variety of careers—from parks and public works to community engagement and beyond. Each week, you’ll also take part in engaging Friday sessions that help you grow personally and professionally, with topics like mental health, financial literacy, and public speaking. It’s more than a summer job—it’s a chance to build your future.

“I am proud to help with the Root River water sampling because we test for important things that can affect people’s health, such as E. Coli. Being a part of the water sampling means that I am also a part of keeping the citizens of Racine safe and healthy.”
Jose Olivo Jr.
I’ve been in Racine my whole life, so being able to work for the city feels meaningful and inspiring to me. It’s helped me understand the value of being involved in th community and how it can make a real impact where you grew up”
