Bulky Waste
Household Bulky Waste Collection
You can place up to 5 items each tagged with a Household Bulky Item decal.
Qualified items are: furniture, mattresses, box springs or prepared carpet (cut in lengths less than 4 feet and tied in rolls).
These items are picked up on your solid waste collection day, no need to call ahead of time.
Household Bulky Item decals are available at the Library, City Hall or any Community Center.
Household Bulky Item DOES NOT INCLUDE:
- Garbage Food Waste
- Yard Waste
- Recyclable Materials
- Construction Waste (Siding, Shingles, Household Fixtures, StructuralRelating to or forming part of the structure of a building or other item. Material, Concrete, Doors, Windows, Pallets Etc.).
- Regulated Waste Tires, Microwaves, electronics.
- Non-Freon White Goods Such as Washers, Dryers, Stoves, Ranges, Dishwashers and Hot Water Heaters.
- Freon Containing Appliances Such as Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners, dehumidifiers.
Household Bulky Item Disposal Options:
- If you routinely exceed the capacity of the 95-gallon cart and (3) 42 gallon solid waste bags allowed, you may want to purchase an additional 95-gallon cart(s) for $65
Recycle cart(s) for $67 (tax included) There is no charge for collecting solid waste from additional carts. Purchase can be made at City Hall, Room 103, 730 Washington Avenue
- Sell, Donate, Reuse, or Recycle unwanted items.
- Residential customers may bring bulky wastes to the Racine Transfer Station.
Proof of residency is required when items are dropped off.
Cost per bulky item is $25.
ITEMS NOT CLASSIFIED AS BULKY WASTE OR NOT PROPERLY PREPARED FOR COLLECTION WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.
